Current duck's nuts for smallies???

Sorry to put up a question as my first post but I am a bit strapped for time. I have a few grand burning a hole in my pocket and have decided to finally do something with the smallie stuff i have managed to squirrel away over the years.

Ive been looking on various sites and ebay italy and i am wondering what the general consensus is on the top kit out at the moment...

I have a few jap market 50s's that i bought at auction a few years ago and a pk i got off evilpay last year.

Ive been riding around on a ts1 for the last few years which is fun, but to be honest I have always thought of the vespa smallframe as THE scooter to own and ride.

On ebay I saw a Falc Kit with a watercooled head which looked alright, what do people think??

Ive been told by a few mates that you guys are pretty much the last word on what's what when it comes to all things smallframe, so hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction.

I would really like to build myself a smallie that will keep me happy for a few years at least. It will be used pretty regularly so it needs to be rideable (Ive had a few scoots in the past that were pretty quick but some were a real headache to ride) I guess what I mean is that I would prefer to lose out on a few horsepower rather than have a complete screamer that has an unusable powerband.

I know that this is a difficult question, but what would people consider to be the best kit on the market these days??

I need something fast (obviously) but also reliability is extremely important. Having said that, I dont mind if it will take alot of upkeep as I'm a Fitter and Turner and have a couple of decades of scoot building behind me down here.

As I said the budget is pretty open as I have a few spare scoots I would be quite happy to sacrifice to the ebay gods if it means I end up with a dream smallie.

At the moment, it is a toss up between one of the Falc setups and a Quattrini M1***.

Also, if anyone is interested I have a new in the box Poli kit sitting here I would be happy to part with at some point if anyone is interested, but I would prefer to swap it for parts i will need rather than sell it, I much prefer barter when it comes to parts rather than trying to get my money back or make a profit.


Oh also, does anyone know of someone in Italia that might be willing to do a favour and take delivery of a kit for me and send it on?? The guy (diegoracing) who is selling the LC falc kit will only send inside Italia and I am a lil bit of a hike from there....

Hi Raff, welcome aboard! ;D Nothing wrong with questions, God knows I'm putting them on here every half-hour!

The Falc is really designed as a sprinter kit, so I'm not entirely sure how usable it would be as a daily rider... Max was saying that a few italians use them as runners, but like I said, I think they might be a bit too "on edge" for day-to-day use. So yeah, I'll fight the corner for an M1 with a carb big enough to suck up small children! ;D You'll still be looking at twentysomething horses, so it'll be by no means sluggish...

Hey Raff youve got a pretty good choice of kits now , plenty of lary nutty stuff with the reliability to go with it ( )
As always as long as you use quality/new parts and its set up properly your going to have loads of fun ...
Ive had a TS1 ,gilera 180 runners 225 malossi but the smallies are just pure fun ,smile factor you cant beat and piss off the lardy and lam riders tooo ...Good friendly and very helpfull peeps here fella ......keep us all updated dude

If i were to buy the falc i'd buy it from them direct. I'm not sure you need the watercooled head. They are lary-ask nik as he uses one on the road. can you cruise on this motor nik? It is a sprint designed motor to be sure but i've not ridden a standard one.

Thanks for the advice guys. I would be happy to buy the kit direct from the manufacturer as italian ebay can be a nightmare. It is hard enough building tuned scoots down here in Oz, but it is made a shitload harder when nobody will send stuff outside of their country. I really don't see what the problem is with writing an extra line on the box to have it shipped to be honest but hey each to their own.

I have just registered with a company that will take delivery of ebay items in germany, them forward them onto me down here. I am hoping there is something similar for italia.

Now that I am starting my own business doing restos I will be buying heaps more stuff from european sites so hopefully this service will solve some of the logistics problems.

Now, back to the actual reason for this long winded post....

Can somebody point me in the direction of the websites (or phone numbers) of the guys that manufacture Falc and Quattrini kits?? This money is really burning a hole so I wanna get myself some go fast goodies b4 I blow it all on something useless.

Id have to say that buying the parts from s.i.p may be cheaper .....Best to shop around of course ..
From my own experience it was ...
eg.
piston kit and clutch plates replacement .
When your spending the sort of money that the Falc bits cost your want to watch your pocket EH!

Dude,i run a slightly tuned Parmakit 130 (reed version) with a Hammerzombie pipe and can honestly say its the most fun scooter ive ever owned and ive got a TS1 aswel.Its reliable,rideable and it does go very well.Riding long distance is no issue and have held it flatout with mi head down. Just maybe an option for you

m1l with a decent pipe is not to be sniffed at.... BBBAAARRRRPPP!!!! but then if you want the best: FALC! be prepared to educate your self on everything else you'll need though... you'll need one of their clutches too... (that is unless the clutch question has been otherwise addressed in my absense over the last year)
