looks nice... but go on the site and look at the underside of it. The bolts have to be ground to clear the basket. I dont like that. £300 quidder too... I've seen this on other sites and i maybe wrong but they show a packer for the clutch cover and backplate.. is this the same unit? max?
Unless there is a new one ,,? the old one was just an xl2 with extra springs and carbon type plates. I didnt think much of it tbh as it was expensive. You may of just bought the 'uprated' xl2 from sip and stuck some cosa springs inside the others to get a similar effect.
cheers chaps, going to have to uprate now as it was sounding like an auto on sunday when i was out on a run ;D the pipe looks well too Tony with it laquered, well, before i went out in the rain and got it covered in shit ;D
yeah but still the same friction plates/steels material as the uprated xl2. sometimes adding stronger springs only adds to lever pressure and you dont get very far. You have to double the pressure to get say 30% gain because simply the frictional quality gets poor as they get hot. Thats why lauro dumps the steels and uses ally plates.
Thanks for that max. Its all nicely engineered but I'm uncertain about a few things that would make it usefull for racing. Watched the video a few times and I'm not sure but I think you may not be able to change springs in situ as you can the falc. You may be able to change plates by using one half of that tool. I have to say the falc one is far far simpler than that. Doesnt require two gaskets (but i'm sure you could get round that with some thought). Also still only using 4 plates as per falc so its a lot of effort for some extra springs.. Max have you been in contact with them? Can you change plates and springs without disturbing the joint between the christmas tree and the boss that replaces the spider?
