Just got my cylinder back from langcourt ltd (01934612226) Quality is excellent and reasonably priced too, they said it would be 10 days, and it was 9 with postage and a bank holiday inbetween.
Gotta promote a company that does what it says it will do, and does it well. ;D

Yeah .. you have to provide the piston when your having the barrel plated.. ive used them before and what a quality job and quick turn around ..... You'd be amazed how many scooter shops (tuners) use them Just imagine how much of a mark the shops charge YOU if you if went through them ! ! ! !

Yeah, Nik's right. You have to supply the piston you want the barrel matching to, don't send the rings though.. Also remove any studs etc or they will coat them with stuff to stop them being plated and charge an extra £20.. its £25 for any welding work to be done to it too. The quality is really good, and very thick compared to what it was before, but I suspect that tis is due to using a different grade piston in it. I didn't even have to tell them tolerances as was told no problem we do loads of them and the guys know what they are doing. thanks again Nik, and when are you going to tell us all why you never made it to the IOW? ? ;D

Looks good Shane. When is going to be back on the road then? ;D Hmmmm..... 2 weeks ago got it all together put it in the frame, put the flywheel on and gave it a spin to check it was ok, and then it stopped... turned it back and there was a slight click..... Brass plunger had found its way down under the gears and decided to pop out the bottom of the casings..... Gutted, now I need to get them apart and welded (hopefully on monday £45 for about 2 inches ) and then I can get them back together and its ready to go... I suppose this is what you get for doing these jobs with a stinking hangover... ;D

Oh dear. I always put a dub of grease to hold the plunger in place when fitting the clutch cover. ;D

Hmmm, so do I..... It was actually the old one from when I seized it.... just put the cover on and then forgot about it, comes to put it all back together and I have a new one, so used that, and thought no more of it..... there is a lot to be learnt from my experience I can tell you.....
