For years I've been ignorant to the music of Imelda May. Now I have seen the light and heard the music. Epic!

Yeah, I'm well familiar with her Rockabilly stuff which I really liked. Heard her promoting her new album on the radio at the weekend which is a departure but I think it's also fantastic. I didn't realise she had quite such a beautiful voice until now.

Got one of her early albums, this sound a wee bit KT Tunstall is, good toon, just the right side of country on the slide.

no it`s still hendrix, hawkwind and early blues for me
this was at the time of T.rex, the sweet, mud, garry glitter, suzzy q, etc. etc. etc.
i like this as it proves he didn`t always play a white strat.
and the sex pistols killing the hawkwind classic

Have a good 'un H.
I make no apology for this, you either like them or not. Heard it on the radio for the first time in God knows how long earlier today, simpley a beautiful song as far as I'm concerned.
Enjoy. And if not then fuck off and culture yourself a heart.

Sticking with the theme of sibling harmonies, these sisters are brilliant.

too country/americana for me that one Mel. Some good 80s jumpers in the Proclaimers vid , is it a myth or did I hear sometime that they had to learn to sing with the rolling scottish accent cos they were too posh?

Dunno mate, they're from Fife and I've never met a Posh Fifer. I'm sure they exsist but never had the fortune/misfortune to encounter such a being. No problem with the Kingdom as most I know from that neck of the woods are A1, just an observation.

Anyway, back to Ms. May. The missus found this tonight on her YouTube binge, never seen it before and no surprise there as not the biggest fan of O'Connor but will give her dues on talent.

Just finished listening to the Roy Orbison special on R2. Not available to link at the moment and I won't try to pretend I loved everything the Big O ever did but that haunted, Angelic voice has nothing in the way of Peers. Perhaps Art Garfunkle gets close but it'll only ever be close at best.
Will link if live tomorrow.

Totally forgot about this, heard a trailer for it last week and was planning on giving it a listen. Heard a reminder today that it was on catch up, not listened to it yet but will at some point in the week. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08tj3xy
