Cant beat Jack Johnson about the head Oh but how I wish I could, with a large and heavy implement. Personally I find Jack Johnson really uninspirational and irritating at the same time. Strange combo that. *edit* just been thinking how I would like to see Mr Johnson, Coldplay and Snow Patrol all togethr, forced into some strange Saw (movie) type game of death.....

Going through a bit of a Franz Ferdinand phase at the moment... Either Ulysses or Lucid Dreams are what's on right now.
That or Paul Weller's Holy Man (Reprise) which I'm trying to teach myself on the piano. Just mastered the Pink Panther theme, so I'm jolly proud of that, but I fancied something a bit different!

not averse to a bit of early ska, rockabilly.....or vampire badness Vega girl, I know you put this up before the series started, but have been watching True Blood....guess what is the theme. Personally I can't get past playing all the clips on you tube of the Specials gigs, cant wait til Brighton, missed out in May as when tickets went on sale I thought work were gonna send me somewhere 'Hot and dusty'. So I didn't buy one.

Hats off to Seasick Steve... I have an album of his, and I love all the stories he chucks in around his songs as little spoken word tracks.

I fucking love Seasick Steve, the only white man that can pull off the Blues other than Stevie Ray Vaugh and Jeff Healy.
I've loved the Blues as long as I can remember and I feel it my duty to steer the younger lads in the right direction. John Lee Hooker who you're no doubt aware of and one you're perhaps not is the Genius of Robert Johnson.

As it's getting near Christmas I got James Brown Funky Christmas on the CD player at the moment. This is not your usual cheesy silent night covers cd, this is soulsome and funky, christmas songs in the Father of Soul's own style. Highly recommended.
