just bought a new helmet, which I personally think looks great:
and at the moment, the goggles are some fairly cool pilots (like ray ban aviator)
among you who ride your scooters daily, and have seen a lot more than me; is this a no no? should I be more protected? but wouldn't it look goofy to ride around on an oldtimer like a vespa with a fullface helmet and visor?
opinions and pictures please pictures of yourself riding your scooter are especially welcome
bubble visors are cool, but i dont know if i have the bottle to get one!
vespa pks 136 cutdown in pieces
vespa pk 130 yard bike in pieces
on reflection, Max can't be Italian, as he no longer agrees with the following:
<every scooter could do with a pk/px horncover & yankee seat>
yeah i think the style of the openface is great, just a shame about the protection, watched a great documentary last night about graham hill and jackie stewart and they were all wearing open faces. Bloody Mental....!!!!! try here for different styles www.openfacehelmets.co.uk/
Hmmmmm went for a little ride on the big roads out of town today. First time I've been able to select 4th gear properly (new engine) and whilst trying to see how fast I could go flat out all i could think of was this thread and tony's chin comment!!
Full face helmet is next on my shopping list I think - open face is fine for pootling about town but I didnt feel comfortable at all at speed (what speed I dont know as my speedo isnt connected - but no-one overtook me)
Seeing business men in london riding twitchy superbikes with cotton trousers and no gloves makes me flinch every time, two wheels just isn't as safe as a car so give yourself the best chance when (cause you will) stack it regardless if it's your fault or a careless car.
Tony & Jim - deffo a bit battlestar Cylon, with a hint of daft punks Electroma ;D
