Hello i joined the forum yesterday and would like to ask a few questions regarding a et3 that i have just bought with the intention of restoring. On the documents the vin numbers are , chassis vmb1t with 5 numbers, on the actual frame it says vmb1t with different letters and numbers above, on documents it says vmb1m with 5 numbers , on engine it says vm then i cant read the rest and the numbers above are 6 different digits, is this normal or not.

hi there buddy, right the vin/chassis/frame no on the log book should match exactly as it do on the frame of your scoot except normally a couple of stars stamped at begining and end
also the engine no should be the same as stated on the log book, unless the engine has been replaced with another one and hasnt been changed on the log book,
if all of these are different you may find you have bought a stolen frame or engine or maybe both,if this is the case and you contact the dvla to change them on the log book, expect a knock on the door and the scoot to be taken away from you, hope for your sake not, good luck buddy

It doesn't sound good I'm afraid. Any chance you could take a picture and either PM or e-mail it to me?
