Afternoon all
Went to check how much petrol was in the tank this morning and can't get the seat to lift up. The lock and barrel are fine seems to be the catch doesn't seem to move when I put the button in so won't lift up.
Any tips that don't invlove a hammer or damaging it in anyway will be welcome. Failing that I'll get the hammer and a screw drive out.
Cheers.

I'll give it a crack and see.
If not I'll just have to destroy the barrel and then try and fit a finger instead to release the catch.
Cheers.

If that fails, unscrew the barrel thingy, it will lift with the seat then, so you'll have access to the catch.

Short sharp twat with a hammer seemed to do the trick.
Took it apart and put it back together again and its still really stiff and not sure what. Going to get some lock lube on it and see if that helps might even sand the casing down a little so it slides easier.
Cheers for the help all.

the seat could have moved on the front bolts slightly, loosen them off a tad so the seat can move back and forward a bit and see if it opens then, it could be that the pike nut is putting too much pressure on the catch making it stiff
