IMG_0166 by henri briggs, on Flickr . wanting to cut down on set up time an costs when decking cases an opening out spigot hole i decided to make a jig .so i can get them pretty level at home before taking to machinist . so 18" square 10mm plate , drilled a hole through a locating dowel 6mm dia ,an welded two uprights with a 6mm hole drilled through them .cases can then be held upright an pivot back an forth to get one plane level. IMG_0167 by henri briggs, on Flickr . 2 other brackets welded to base plate ,an 2 tie-bars to brake backplate studs ,to lock it off when level an its done . by a spirit level i can get it dead flat front to back ,but its slightly low on clutch side side too side . i think its when i drilled the locating dowel slightly skewed ,but will work this time with a shim under clutch side to lift base plate .will get another dowel drilled square in a lathe later on .
