Hey guys, I have recently heard that the VHST main jet needs to be higher than the PHBS. Is this true?
If so, I have a setup where I know many people run 125-130, with the phbs 26mm, how much higher should I go with the VHST?
Does it only concern the main jet?

ive found flatslide carbs versus round slides use a slightly larger main ,an slightly smaller pilot ,so long as the venturi size is the same .as in say a 26 roundslide to a 26 flatslide .H

What would be a good main jet to try next? 160, 170? Seems like a big difference from the round carb but maybe it’s normal. I also got a friend who has a 24 TM and similiar setup, it’s a smaller carb and different brand. Would I make sense to try convert his jetting to mine to get a starting point? I know about the mikuni cc and doll mm

funny thing about carb jets is that they have different ways of measuring the size.
delorto and webber sizes are measured in mm at the narrowest point ie 135=1.35mm & 150=1.50mm & 200=2.00mm etc etc amal measure the flow in thimblefulls per minute at a standard preasure the jap carbs can be measured in cc flow per minute at a standard preasure or the diameter of the jet at the narrowest point depending on the make and model of carb
mix and match is not always a sane way to go
TM i guess is a variant on the mikuni TMX so jet size would have no relationship to dellorto stuff

Get a range of mains and jet it properly. I always go until it’s just too rich and then go from there.
