Hi all, My 1977 Primavera ET3 has an intermittent spark, the issue seems to become worse if the engine warms up. During troubleshooting I noticed the weird look of one of the coils on the stator plate. Curious to hear if anyone thinks this might be the issue or how to measure (I have a voltage meter but little experience on how to operate) Thanks!

If its roached it'd be cheaper to replace than repair.
Have a dealer check it if your unsure - that's what they're there for.

check the simpler things first. plug, cap, HT lead,
if all else fails then check the more expensive items like electronic box and stator

to my eye the LT coil looks like its got hot ,the brown spot discolorations ,an the symptons you describe are often failing LT coil or pick-up on the stator symptons .but as tzsteve said they can also be caused by the simpler things aswell ,start at plug an work backwards to the stator. pick-ups an LT coils can be replaced ,an whilst there a quick re-wire of the stator aswell, the wires corrode an give problems ,its a simple job if you can solder .otherwise there are people who offer this service ,me for one,H.
