Good evening people of the Vespa Smallframe forum,
I'm in need of some advice and guidance - I have a Vespa 90, completely bog standard v90 engine. I recently took my carb out and performed some routine maintenance. I've now got the carb back in the scoot, my problem now is that I cannot seem to get the throttle cable to engage the throttle slide on the carb fully, meaning that when I'm full throttle on the handlebar, it seems that the throttle slide is only opening up at max 35%/40%.
Is there a way to adjust/tighten the throttle cable so full throttle on the handlebars means full throttle on the carb? I'm quite new to tinkering with 2 strokes and have found this forum to be ever so helpful so far so I thought i'd try my luck.
I took her out for a spin last night, it ran lovely for an hour or so. And then when I hit higher revs in third gear it would bog down on me, it feels as if I am running the float chamber dry of fuel, I think this is to do with the fact the throttle slider is not opening fully when I engage the handlebar throttle grip fully.
Is there a simple fix to this? Does my throttle cable need adjusting (if so, how?) Does the throttle cable need to be shortened?
I'm a bit of a dead end and would appreciate any assistance in solving this issue. I'm gagging to get out on some ride outs before the summer dwindles.
