Unexpected winning bid on Ebay ! PK50N all running but in need of TLC and final assembly , possibly paint job but body sound. No paperwork but sent V62 off to DVLA. Will post short video , not sure if its a bargain or not for £700 what do we reckon Henri , I will be reaching out so you can turn the phone off Its difficult to know how much to spend on something like this as its not exactly a classic but I have a soft spot for the PK ( brain )

for very little extra that will make a superb little scoot engine sounds superb.
The price seems very reasonable for what you have got

So , bad news / no news from DVLA. They told me to send V62 & £25 along with the VIN etc on form , I explained I had no Reg Number as purchased off Ebay without any details after years in shed ( Possibly a mistake !!! )
They sent me a letter at long last saying they cant or wont be able to assist with out the Registration Number , tried calling today but message says they have industrial action.
Anyone know if its possible to trace Reg from the VIN ?

I have found sites that do it for cars but not scooters.

Well , not sure what to do next ! They asked me to photo of VIN which I did and it wasn't on system , this is fine and I would follow H's route and get dating certificate etc if they hadn't asked me to take to a garage. The Garage aren't going to find anything different unless its a ringer. I cant believe its an unregistered import , doesn't add up , why import it and not register it and its not a particularly rare / desirable model. Below from DVLA Thank you for your email with the photo provided. Unfortunately no link can be established on the DVLA system to any vehicle, I would now suggest that you take the vehicle to a local garage. So that they could assist you in trying to locate the Vin/ chassis number for this vehicle. Thank you. Ok. You need to go the HMRC website and create a NOVA for it. This tell's HMRC that no tax is due. Then you need to get a dating cert from the Vespa Club GB. Then you need to fill in the V55 and add a letter, stating that it was imported a long time ago and was a barn find so no foreign docs also a cheque for £55 quid plus RFL and MOT cert if it's not over 40 years old . This is what I did on the last 50n I did and it worked. The other alternative is a guy call Rob Skipsey on the FB Smallframe forum who does all this for about £120.
Don't give up!

I used Rob on the Orange primly I restored, all went through easily, you can do it yourself but some of the forms are a bit of a pain so I just passed everything on and a V5 came through, took about 6 weeks in total and also came through as an historic so happy days

Thanks all , much appreciated. I started a Nova application today but didn’t have some of the answers such as when it was imported etc. Might give Rob a try if I can’t manage to work it out this weekend. Does anyone have an email address or contact as I don’t do facebook. Stay cool

Right , it gets worse !
Arranged dating certificate , cleaned off 2 ton of crap to get engine number for photos. Checked it on online and it’s a 1983 PK50s engine. Obviously that’s not going to match the VIN for dating certificate. This seems to be a bitsa , should have checked a bit deeper when I purchased it . May strip it and sell as parts , or may persevere 🤫
Printed all the forms, thanks H
