Hello, I have an unmodified U.S. 100 sport (i.e. 12v Battery, indicators) and am looking to purchase a SIP Performance Electronic Ignition (e.g. www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/ignition-sip-performance-by-vape-sport_51009SD0)SIP offers it in DC or AC and "Sport" (variable timing) or "Road". I'm inclined to purchase the Sport since variable timing seems to offer better performance. My questions: is the stock ignition system DC or AC? Is there any major advantage to converting it or should i just stick with the stock version? I'd like to purchase the version that is "plug and play" (would that be AC or DC?) to avoid having to convert other components unless someone has a compelling reason to make the effort to convert it (or maybe theu are both "plug and play" and one offers better performance?). Pardon my ignorance. Any insights are greatly appreciated. With thanks,

i'd stick with the static road an ac system . to go full dc you'd have to change other components .H

A US spec 100 sport has a DC horn and a DC flasher in addition to the battery. The only AC circuit is the headlight, which can easily be run on DC. All this was done to meet US requirements for a bright tail light, brake light and signals at an idle.
So, what do you want to end up with? The simplest way to go is with a DC system as that is how the scoot is already wired and equipped. You could keep the present harness and go AC-only but it would be simpler to fit a new harness if you go in that direction.
I actually liked the 100 sport electrical system so I kept it when I converted to variatronic.
