Has anybody had any issues with the Pinasco Flytech ignition ? I have put one on my motor and it seems to be running very hot. I have dropped it down to 20 deg and it looks like its retarding as it should but motor still running hot. Jetting on carb rich ATM and didn't have any issues previously with standard ignition and HP4 flywheel.

im guessing you are using a decent kit I would expect something like 24 to 25 deg at about 5000 rpm

It’s a Polini Evo direct with a 34mm Keihin and big Bertha timings at 193 and 130. Set it at 24 originally and had a heat seize on a short test run . Pulled motor apart and piston head had classic pre ignition melt marks but other than that colour was good. Put new piston in and dropped ignition down to 20 deg but it’s still running hot as if ignition isn’t retarding. Checked with strobe and all seems to be working ok . I think I will just get it Dynoed and see if it shows up anything weird going on

im using a quatrinni kit but I run a BPR9HS plug with a vmc ignition it sounds to me like your mixture is a little weak any signs of an air leak?

Found the problem! I don't know what was happening or why but when I disconnected the wire from the coil to the kill switch the problem stopped. The ignition is working fine now and the engine is running a lot cooler on the EGT.
