the way I do them is to bore the big hole in the middle first that's a lathe job then drill down the barrel stud holes with an extra long drill after that its all simple blending and trimming
but I know you will do your usual good job however you do it

probably yes , but i'm looking to see if i can use it usual way , keeps my exhaust options wider then . sim 3 001 by henri briggs, on Flickr sim 3 002 by henri briggs, on Flickr . whilst cases are being welded ,made a start on reed manifold packer , to move reed body further from cases so it interferes less with barrel packer . cases didnt get welded before lockdown , an couldnt get them to machinist aswell , so time to experiment . 54mm 001 by henri briggs, on Flickr . turn my pillar drill into a sort off mill ,to open out cases to take a 54stroke full circle crank . 54mm 002 by henri briggs, on Flickr . fits in now , but wont turn as big end rubs , so alter depth of cutter an trench em . 54mm 001 by henri briggs, on Flickr . turns now but catches on the sealing pad ,not a problem as its crackered an due removal . weds 001 by henri briggs, on Flickr . roughed out for now ,needs further smoothing an opening . day 2 001 by henri briggs, on Flickr . then on to getting flap wheels an sanding drums an opening spigot out to accept the piston skirt at bdc . weds 004 by henri briggs, on Flickr . time to mock up an measure up again , though cranks only got a 105 rod in an it will need a 110 rod in use . so some maths n jiggery pokey to do .H
