Afternoon all, I have got my hands on a 1977 v50, the French version with pedals. Body is in very good condition but it wasn’t running, didn’t take long to figure out why. The fuel tank was really rusty and had a crazy bit of copper pipe welded to it. The line was practically blocked and the carb was full of gunk. I have bought a new tank and fuel, fuel line and due to a crack in the carb a new Dellorto 16/10. I have some questions if I may: The 50cc cylinder looks to be on ok shape and I am in the process of cleaning it all up. I did start pricing up a replacement in case it was no good and came across some upgraded kits to take it up to 75cc. Would something like this be suitable on the v50 without any additional modifications or will it need adjustments to the crank and other bits?
The exhaust looks to be the original unit albeit with a coat of paint. Is it worth popping on a new exhaust whilst I have everything off? I am not out for a big performance enhancement but a little more wouldn’t hurt.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Welcome along nice little project and a nice bit of pipe work on the tank. And you have managed to put some pictures up. :-) Someone on here will have a carb I’m sure , and you may even drop on a cylinder

Cheers mate. I've bought a new 16/10 carbcand have a few little bits and pieces on order. There's a bot of cosmetic work needed but not urgent. It was owned by a french girl and there is quite a bit of glitter on it. Like gold glitter stripes down the side panels. Eventually I want it silver but for now I will need to get used to how it looks!

wee upgrade kit, polini type snail exhaust and upjet carb should see you alright for gentle town running.

shouldn't do, the 75cc kits are straight replacement providing it is for a 43mm crank.

is there a gasket or any kind of rubber mounting that sits between the petrol tank and the frame on the 50? I have seen come up in google searches for different models but not the smallframe
