thanks mate hoping to build a les paul type in the next few months i`ve just set up for making the pickups and made a nice little coil winding machine
photo`s as and when
the next thing is getting some nice wood at an affordable price anyone got some really nice quarter sewn, highly figured timber please let me know

got a friend just felled a cherry tree , good for inlays i guess , my dad use to do marquetry as a hobby . interested in the coil winding machine ,often wondered if i could set-up an wind LT coils .there around 24 quid new for decents , wondered if i could do em cheaper myself . were do you get the wire an is it pre varnished . H

the wire is from ebay about £15 to £20 for 250 grams pugwash can tell you the details about the coils as he has done a few mostly on the lathe with a mandrill i made when i was studying i think its 3300 turns the little brass eyelets can be found in bee keepers supplies they are used in the wood frames to hold the wires which secure the honey comb link i can post a couple of pics of my machine if you want but i`m away from the web for ten days holiday cherry makes a very good guitar if the sections are big enough and well dried it is also often used in furniture ie the 3 piece suite it also carves very well but it needs careful storage while drying as the woodworm seem to smell it form miles away and go straight for it
