SO my 210 motor wasn't wanting to play on eurovespa last year, something not right with electrics despite having new stator plate (electrics are not my thing). So one of our club member had got himself a brand new PX150 but wasn't happy with the performance as he puts a lot of miles on his scoot and wanted a bigger engine. As my missus can no longer go on the backof me I thought I could get away with the smaller engine and put a wee kit on it. So we swapped engines, he gets the faltering 210 and I get an almost new 2017 150 motor. Pinasco 177 plug and play kit fitted (though I have had to file down the barrel a little as the flywheel starter ring catches), 26mm carb fitted, Readspeed CDI to let it rev higher and SIP road 2 exhaust fitted - should perform more or less like a standard P2.
While I had the motor out I decided to revamp the paintwork to as it has been about 10 years since I last did it. I will get some more pics up soon (I have just opened a flickr account so need to get to grips with it) but these are piccies of the first round of paint. Re-learning some old lessons with regards to the paint process but will get there in the end. Some reaction on some of the paint and a couple of runs on the first go so lots of work still needed. Reckon I must have spent about 20 hours on the paint so far (I finished as far as I am going to take it this time last night - not perfect but OK for now) - finished piccies to add later.
Tonight the re-build begins.
