g'day, I've got a '66 Vespa 125 smallie that I need to trick up a bit. I'm thinking relatively small project mainly focussing on the engine and carbie. At present it's the standard 16mm carb on the standard 125cc engine. My plan is to put a Polini 133 or 136 kit in with a bigger carb, either a 19mm or go up to 24mm. Does anybody have any instant words of warning or encouragement? Does anybody have a spare 19mm carbie?? they're very thin on the ground in Australia.

G'day ;D
where in Aussie are you - i've spent a bit of time over there, got family all over the place! I have a polini reedvalve manifold in 19mm that is practically new - is your manifold two stud or three?
All the best, Tom

If its the original engine then it will be 2 stud

I do in fact have the two stud manifold. would a reed be any real advantage, given that I don't (at present) have any plans for getting a cut down crank or anything along those lines? But if it would be an advantage I'd certainly be keen on hearing more about it.
I'm in sunny beautiful Canberra.

Spent a few days in Canberra - visited the big parliament house building and the big library - everyone looked at us strangeley as we were walking between sights!! Stayed at a nice campsite a few miles out. We drove from Brisbane to Brisbane anticlockwise in a knackered Hiace carpet fitters van, took us 5 months! re reed manifold - I'm sure experts here will tell you what if any the benefits might be - I'm no expert myself.... oh and theres a spot prize if you can tell me where in aussie this is?

well, without going to google to check the whereabouts of liqourwise shops, I'm going to say it's definitely somewhere in the state of Victoria. Complete lack of any NSW beers gives that away... I think....
