after 7 years the sweaty panic attacks an screaming nightmares had stopped , so i thought it was time to own another lambretta.bought on tuesday an havent slept since .
seems if you run a bretta with a clogged exhaust/full advanced timing/an no air filter with clogged barrel fins up an down a italian farm track they seize , mucho surpriso.
then in your attempts to "fix" you use a oxy-aceteline torch to heat piston , further melting it ,then hide in the barn for 40 years so mamma dont find out youve been a naughty boy this is what you get . 3 days of heat n soaking in diesel n penetrating oil ,then loose patience an "get medieval" on it . a de-constructed barrel an gudgeon pin cut out from piston to free barrel from cases .
but cranks totally seized , mag housing bearing must of lost its inner seal at some point ,cut away outer seal to get penetrating oil in to find no grease just a sandy paste of old 2 stroke oil an farm track dust . an webs seized to cases with same paste +rust an melted ali .
so any ideas lads on how to get mag housing off without smashing it , oh forgot to say the 2 bolt/puller threaded holes have both got ,yes you guessed it ,damaged threads . thinkin drill n re-tap to m7 an put some pressure on with heat an drive crank from drive side .cranks scrap an mag housings got damaged threads+snapped cowling bolt +snapped lectrics plate screw . all i really want to save now is the main case .
