went to take the hack for a burp-day thrash ,an kicker stuck down an cases chipped off behind the o-ring . thought sod it n bumped the bitch only for 3 miles later for it to run like a pig ,limped home . the butchers bill in the end was terminal. cases trashed ,seen kick-shafts bend before ,rarely, an splines twist but 1st grenade ive ever seen or heard off .re-built the lump 1500 miles ago an replaced the unumbered lml quadrant with this one coz it was less burred an piaggio .gearbox had a pint of petrol in it ,so thought clutch seal had gone an spun,as cases were pretty worn an i'd had to loctite an stake bearing/seal in . seal was fine,but bearing was rocking in the case letting crank run out n open seal up. an the cause of all this . a new rebound rubber had floated out gone up thru the primarys an got wedged up behind the clutch .clutch had touched the cases,as had the 2nd gear on tree ,an a ring had cracked aswell ,an the shock had loosened the bearing in the cases .then no rubber an the shock of kicking it onto the cases had highlighted the shafts weakness i'm guessing .from the damage i reckon it happened as it was being ridden ,but i didnt feel it or more likely thought i'd not seen a pothole or rubber was thrown up by a enthusiastic speed bump . engines now a rather large "paper weight" an ive gone off px engines entirely for the present. thinkin jam a t5 lump in instead .H
