i tend to use any old paint ive got kicking around the garage for bits of tank you cant see just to stop rust, the top i do in same as body .its best to then cover it in petrol resistant laquer ,follow the directions on can to the letter as its funny stuff .an dont worry if it looks like its bloomed/gone milky as ya spray it on ,that clears as it dries .H

As you all know I've had no end of problems , with my rear brake , battery not charging and then the engine deciding to cut out when running and then not start . All those have been sorted now fingers crossed , so that leads me to the bodywork , I've only the one pic so far . Just as I thought my luck was changing , I had a letter from the dvla this morning rejecting my claim to register the scoot in the uk , apparently the dating certificate issued by the VCB wasn't good enough ! I've spoken to the chap who issued the dating certificate this morning and he said everything is ok ! Possibly the dvla not reading the small print , So I've just sent it back as he suggested and If it gets rejected again he will personally sort it himself I

the dvla drones are on a quota system an have to process X amount of applications everyday . its quicker to reject a app than process one .so the beggars are nit-picking little s###s . also coz of some funny business years ago they wont accept older pre 2014 certs anymore .an some drones use this as a excuse to refuse any cert more than 1-2 months old .hopefully this time you'll get a drone who will do there job an get a reg .H

I added a bit of colour yesterday , it looks better in the pics than it does in the metal , lots of runs to try and fix , at this rate I can see it being sticker bombed too hide everything

Nice work Kev, gently rub em back and respray the bits where needed. You can take out some small runs with a good t-cut polish once you have finished spraying.

I'm slowly getting there and ballsing up as I go along , but to keep my spirits up I've been fitting up the rear end I scrubbed the lenses in warm water with fairy liquid and used an old tooth brush to get in all the corners , they came up well . The mudflap is trial fitted , I know it's not 100% square

Nice Kev, is it off white looks really nice. Thanks Dazz, Being a 50 automatic / pluramatic it's not going to be the fastest scoot , so I've compensated for this by using the fastest colour known to man ' white van ' paint It's very close in colour to ford diamond white, I'll get some better pics once it's all done

I dragged it out of the shed today to fit the front indicators and to have a look at it in the day light , it needs a bit more bodywork but on a whole it's not too bad

I've not updated this thread for a while ,so here goes it's been up and down as projects usually go , I've managed to damage the two side panels when a metal tube fell on top of them in my shed , the front mud guard got damaged too once again a cramped working environment hasn't helped , so there's still a bit of bodywork to finish. I've tried and tried to get the engine running and have failed ,but by pure chance Shaun ' cluelessfromkent ' noticed a pk50 automatic engine on one of the Facebook pages ( I'm not on FB ) think I need to sign up just for parts . Anyhow Shaun kindly passed on the details to me and a deal was done . The engine turned up the Tuesday before Easter and my plan was to fit it over Easter bank holiday , the Mrs had already planned a fun filled weekend for me visiting various members of the family ( not ). After a few fucks ,I decided like most blokes ' anything for a quiet life ' and agreed too do as I was told So Thursday night I removed the engine in my cramped shed and got up early on Good Friday morning to fit the engine I bought , I also changed the throttle cable as I noticed it was hanging by a strand and luckily had a spare . I managed to get the engine running by 10:30 am on the G/Friday but once again it wasn't running great ,but that's all I could do on that day due to family commitments . Fast forward to Saturday and it still wasn't running right , I went for a quick spin and managed 18mph suppose it's an improvement from 12mph ! By this time I've had enough pissing in the wind and phoned up a local chap who tunes and builds racing quads , he said he'll look at it ,he picked it up Tuesday and dropped back to me the next day, there were a few carb issues which he's solved and it now runs well apperntly hes road tested it and said he was doing 30 and said it was still pulling ,my only concern here is the speedo's in Km doh Unfortunately I've been ill since Easter Sunday and have now got tonsilitist had to go up A&E in the early hours of one morning which was a waste of time and had to go back to the docs on Friday 4 days after the pain started , finally they gave me some antibiotics , I'm still unwell , but once I'm better I can give the scoot a test run to see what's what

sorry ,but that sounds somewhere between "shit n shinola" , am feelin ya pain , been to A&E myself since easter monday . not me but my pops ,least yours fixable eh ,just like ya scoot . on the brighter side ,youve paid the price in pain n misery so a few months/years of riding should be yours to claim now . its scoots , they twist ya melon ,empty ya wallet n break ya heart .but in 1 ten minute ride will make ya head sing an all be good again . trust me ,its true , H

Tonight I managed to go for a spin and my top speed is 22mph , it won't go up a slight incline , so I'm now back to square one ! Flecked off isn't the word , my thinking is its got to be something with the auto transmission , I'm going to have to take the variator apart and have a look .
Engine runs sweet imo
What's your thoughts , I'm thinking cut my losses and move on from this nightmare pk50 automatic and buy a geared pk and live happily ever after ?

All I know is they were massively expensive new, parts are really hard to come by and I wouldn't touch any version with a Barge pole or any long stick. But hope you can get it sorted.
