vespa 150 sprint just won't start, engine rebuilt 4 years ago hardly used and had stale petrol and dirt in the tank so i got a new petrol tap assembly and cleaned out the tank and the carb. its got one of those cheap looking electronic ignition set ups that beedspeed sell fitted. its got a spark and when trying to bump the scooter it tries to pick up once but won't start and its the same when trying to kickstart the scooter. cleaned out the carb again and made sure all gaskets/filters and jets are clean and even the breather on the petrol tack cap too. petrol is getting in to the carb and the float is freely moving so its not flooding. i have had scooters that have been sitting for donkeys years and still run even with knackered seals so think its an electrical fault.....can somebody please help me suss this one out. all the best rob ps drained the gear box oil and refilled it and there was no smell of petrol in the old gearbox oil. it did start ok 4 years ago but has been in storage since then.

it might be worth checking that the flywheel has not slipped and chewed up the woodruff key. as it sounds like you have checked all the usual suspects.
is there any chance that the spark is shorting out from ht lead/cap to the metalwork
