hiya i have a 150 sprint and when its running and you try to change from neutral to any gear from a standing start it just won't go in to gear and it sounds like its trying to wreck the gearbox when you try. i aslo have had to bump start the scooter and when you put the scooter in to gear with the clutch in if you move the scooter back and forth it seams that sometimes the clutch is not engaging. could it be the clutch ? please help as its driving me mad all the best rob p.s the engine was rebuilt by the previous owner and has not been used for 4 years.

Almost certainly plate or basket wear, oil could also be an issue. Presuming the action is free when it's working then I'd be looking more at the plates and cruciform which do go alarmingly quickly if not built properly. Assume the previous builder was a Muppet, anything less with a slight over-sight should be a Brucie Bonus.

sounds like clutch has dried out in last 4 years an aint seperating ,could also of got surface rust on plates sticking it up, did the "muppet" know to soak plates overnight n drip dry before assembly in gear oil, try kicking it over whilst in gear n clutch pulled in ,if kicker dont go down without moving scoot n turning engine it needs pulling , compress it with a compressor or threaded bar nb washers an shake it ,no rattle=non-separating plates , be warned tho, the castle nuts that hold clutches on are crap design an def a single use/always replace item , get the proper tool an a new nut n fettle tool so it actually fits snugly in nut before trying it on clutch one .
