Agree it's a great way of sharing info and a nice build. Mind you you won't need to fit a front wheel can't see it making much contact with the road much anyway after seeing the videos on YouTube

That looks great max! Can I ask you a few more questions about it, as I am doing basically the same project? Did you shorten the pk front end, or is it the sip (already shortened) one? I have a standard pk front end, a new top to put on and my old biturbo (same as yours). If I shorten the fork, will the biturbo still fit> or do i need to mod the mounts or shock to make it work? I also have a headset like yours, its missing the innards and gear shift. You can't buy this model in NZ, so not sure where i can get all the rest of the parts. There doesn't seem to be many parts listed on sip- is there anywhere else i can get the parts to put the headset together? Have you got a shot of your master cylinder and the angle you welded the plate? My headset has that part cut out already from the guy i brought it off who was going to do the same conversion. cheers paul Hi PJ, the forks are standard PK lenght as the rear will need raising anyway to be able to reach the sparkplug (top end sits higher than a standard engine) and by doing so it will all be level. The master cylinder on this build need moving as its not right. However, I have some pictures of mine which should be able to help. Oh yeah just spotted the black rear light rubber..where d'you get it? Black rubber is from SIP

Hello! I'm doing a similar job, ang I just got the first bits and pieces. But this is my first real engine build and some things look a bit different. For example, what's the extra hole for? Is it just an extra option if i wanted the carb mounted to the casing instead of the cylinder? So should i just plug it with some sheet metall, or leave as it is, or what do you reckon? www.scooterklubben.com/forum/download/file.php?id=2268&sid=e0dadd5d3396bb81f9ab193ebd48ef47

to a large extent it depends which barrel you buy.
you have the option of a big fat reedblock in the case or a big fat reedblock on the cylinder. take your pick and block the other. me i`d go for the case reed just like the yam TZ engines. but many like the reed on the barrel like the rotax engines.

same as steve for me aswell , reed block in the hole in cases ,engine can breath in went it wants to then ,an not just when ports uncovered by the piston skirt .nothin wrong with piston ported ,but as ya asking for 1st engine tune info ,cases reed takes 1 choice out the equation for ya an simplifys your inlet timing calculations . the case you have is designed for the m200 cylinder . i am not sure if you can get another cylinder that will be plug and play on this case. the m200 cylinder has bolts holding it on that is unique and the stroke and bore is a lot larger than all the exist small frame cylinders on the market. that cylinder is a reed into a barrel type, so i think that the best option in this case. the case you have requires a wider and longer stroke crankshaft that quatrini makes. unless you really know your stuff, i would suggest just buying all the matched quatrini stuff to go with it. they make the wide/long stroke crank, the 200cc long stroke cylinder and theres a matching pipe as well 9although there are a few others making other pipes that will work too). if you don't like the hole of the unused crankcase reed, this guy makes a tidy cover- www.crimaz.it . but it doesn't need to be blocked as its not open to the engine. paul

Thanks guys! Pj, i have no idea of what I'm doing, so I'm keeping it "standard". Allready have carb and cyl and crank. All quattrini.
I've studied a lot of youtube videos and books for engine rebuilding, but all the extra holes and stuff confused me a bit.
Thanks for the Crimaz idea. Might look a bit tidier!

I have this kit and i am very slowly putting it together. its a great looking engine. i hope to have everything running well before easter next year for a 1000 mile ride we have on this side of the world. i am hoping it will stay together if i don't thrash it! what size carb did you get? i am planning a 28mm pwk kehin (only because i have used these a lot before). I could use bigger, but i think this will be a good compromise to power and economy on the road. paul

I get about 50 miles per tank on my 135, what does a 200 do? 1,000 miles could involve a lot of stops!

Probably more stops than one would want.

I get about 50 miles per tank on my 135, what does a 200 do? 1,000 miles could involve a lot of stops! yeah, when i did the same ride last year, i had far too many stops with my RB200 lambretta with a 32mm carb. I could go with an even smaller carb like a 26mm (like quatrini recommends for setting up). i would loose top speed, but gain smoothness and torque in mid range. i will also have a reserve tank like this- www.sip-scootershop.com/en/products/reserve+tank+legshield+for_90823000paul
