nice early p series ,loads of cheap covered seats on flea bay ,wud change that back light if it was mine ,not to a px 1 there ugly IMO, super/sprint 1's look best or vbb/sportiques .at least its got a reserve tap unlike later px's with fuel gauges ,an can not be so worried about using it an idiots messing with it ,they prob still will ,but p series are best daily hacks an seem to love the abuse ,bet it aint long til it creeps into a corner of ya heart/garage an ya start thinkin of painting/kitting/loving it .H

I agree on the tail-light issue, but this scoot will get general care, replacing parts as they fail. It will eventually get the paint/kitting/loving,but there are multiple projects ahead of it.

try "vespa club uk.org " forum , there all p series/px nuts on there if anything comes up ya not familiar with ,mostly with a rally you'll of seen it before ,indicaters can be funny,speedos/drive/cables always broken, horn sounds like a dying duck crappin thru a sewn up bumhole, spares n parts 50/50 on quality, the usual vespa crap deal, an they can rust out underneath behind front wheel an floor supports fast ,an top rear shock mount for rust n rubber giving up, apart from that everybody will tell ya to drill the airfilter an stick a sip road 2 exhaust on ,it transforms em from commuter hack to smile on face when ya arrive at work, Henri

an if ya mess up a gearchange the rear wheel/hub breaks off an overtakes ,weakness in the splines ,an if ya try a bump start the rotten carrot innoceti calls a drive shaft snaps ,the 125 drive shafts are stronger ? but can make the hub/splines more prone to happen ,never happened on my 1 ,series 2 150 ,i loved the shape/look just couldnt handle the slow boring death of getting anywhere on it ,regret selling it tho as it always started an got to shops n back . are you in america ,as that wud explain the american market light on p series ,the sears scoot n plate on ld , i could be wrong but thought series 3's had light on bars not in horncasting ,an it was french ld's that had a headset n square speedo ,italians had bars n speedo n clock in top of glovebox. could be wrong tho ,its comin up 3 years since i sold the ld an a fair few scoots have flowed under the garage door since then , H just remembered the early ld's had light at bottom of horncast for series 1 ,think they moved higher during series 2 ,have got a pdf innoceti ld manual somewhere ,if ya give us a e mail address will send it to ya if interested , H

Yes, I'm in the states, Colorado, in fact, so I have the added fun of altitude to deal with:) From what I've been able to research, my ld is a 1957 mk3, the one with the little glove box under the passenger seat. But it is possible that it is a case of sending the americans, scoots that have been made out whats left over in the parts bin.I know this happened with some of the allstate vespas. I do have a 2nd ld with frame numbers not far off this one,and the only difference is a lack of a rear rack. The second one will get a nice strong auto conversion once i can be bothered to mess with it. I'd appreciate the pdf manual, Thanks jedi-hunter@live.com

both the late 2 series frames in my shed, has a toolbox halfway down rear arch like yours, earlys dont, the series 2's have a inside leggys glovebox with speedo in top,an rarely a wind-up seiger clock aswell, mostly leccy start 1's ,later 2's n 3's have a small battery tray aswell, reckon with the innoceti badge n lack of other badges it was probably sold as a allstate scooter, with ya sears youve now got the set, not a parts bin job but the innoccetti competition to vespa/sears ,made n assembled in italy an unless its been de-badged or repainted the badge holes fit lambretta badges an allstates an sometimes both badges ,1 above other on side panals, but they didnt have the sheild/crest holes on outside leggys left (lookin forward)for allstates just various innocetti crests top of horncast, thats from memory an with innoccetti as usual theres no hard rules , hope ya in a flat bit of colorado ,as show mine a big hill an it would burn its brakes n wear the soles of ya boots down to stop, will try n send pdf when home monday , an prob get missus to do it by tuesday , as computers arent my thing, Henri

seems in the middle of importation both allstate n brettas had 2 badges on side panels, allstate had allstate above an innoccetti below ,an brettas had innoccetti over lambretta ,tho rumour has it that sum came allstate over lambretta ,reckon it was what ever the dealer had, earlier n later they just had 1 badge on side panel , but only lambretta's had the shield on leggys ,allstates just had the innoccetti crest like yours an brettas, hope thats not just confused you , but from what i remember the french ones didnt ever have the inocet crest, so yours is def italian, inocet use to import say 300 an allstate would take 200 n rest was badged n sold by new york innoccetti agent where they could as lambrettas ,mostly out west in california from what i heard, allstate only sold brettas for 2-3 years ,pretty rare scoot for europe even rarer for states, if ya check out "vespa club.org. " theres a yank with a rally askin about "flywheel removal" ,thats the thread name, says where he is theres no "scoot servicin" ,dont know where exactly he is yet, but maybe you can steer him to a "local" mech-head , H
just re read my posts n realised i might of mixed up sears n allstate ,thought sears was vesp n allstate bretta , if wrong please transpose my names ,the rest is good to my memory , h

Thanks for that manual! I've dealt only with vespas in the past, and the lambretta was starting to make me feel like i was having to relearn everything. Hopefully I can repay the favor someday:)

you got it ,i'm amazed , an its not just vespista's ld's confuse , theres 2 kinds of bretta's ld's n before an li's n later ,there totally different ,engines/box/suspension/clutch , on engines 2 things ,never try n split crancases without magneto flange puller tool , you'll break em for sure , an dont take the kickstart off if ya can avoid it n never dismantle the kickstart mechanism, there very complicated an theres 3 kinds of em an nobodys sure what engine numbers/series they change at,apart from that the toolbox doors are rare, they are slow an apart from a weak drive shaft, never bump-start,an earlyier 1's had a weakness in splines on output shaft/rear axle, yours is 125 has better drive shaft n later so splines should be better 1 ,there fairly bulletproof n reliable for a 60 year old scoot , once started they willalways get ya where ya goin, eventually , still think ya crazy tho as isnt colarado "mountain country" , or is that a childhood saturday horse opera misconception, i found having/working on a ld a steep re-learning curve , but ya brains a muscle ,use it or lose it, i'm just re-doing it building a ld auto, have taken a fancy to a mallossi 4 stroke 190cc kit ,imagine a ld that can break/cruise at the national speed limit (60mph). might have to think of later disc forks ,but reckon ld's the prettyes forks lambretta made, love them brass 3penny-bit grease nipples n chrome side plates , H

ya goin to think this is quick but the favour mentioned above, dont panic , do ya know any clues for rally parts/mechanics/servicing in or near arkansa ,or bensonville(town?) or just usa in general, been talkin to a guy on vespa club.org forum who's got a rally he wants to pull the flywheel on , an service , my geography of usa isnt good enuff to know where arkansa is to colorado, but its closer than here , well last time i looked anyway, what with plate-tectonics n earthquakes ya never know , H

Just Posted on vespaclub.org,hope it helps! FYI Colorado is pretty flat, until you hit the mountains. I could drive east for 500 miles and not see many hills, but if I drive west 100 miles, I could rise in elevation 4-5 thousand feet. The trip from London to Stonehenge has more hills than I see in a week of local driving. Being A mile above sea level is what really hurts scooter performance. My love of scooters is one of the reasons I'm a daft Beggar. :-)

thanks for that ,a mile up on a plateau ,hav to upjet a bit eh, or is it down-jet , an everywhere is pretty flat til ya hit the mountains , must hurt tho what with them being made of stone, an my friends/family call scoots "my obsession" an wife calls em "the other women in my life" ,but other scooterists use to call me daft/crazy coz of the ld an having to always wait for me to catch up , no offence meant an i hope none taken ,joke from 1 scoot nut to another eh, H

None taken! Here in the land of excessive horse power, and obvious overcompensation, being called a daft beggar is a refreshing change. It is nice to associate with others who share my obsession.
