So after selling the SL and the ET2 this is my 17" wheel project. It's on an H plate (1970) has a rotary disc valve and Suzuki's 'autolube' Posiforce system. The engine mounts will accept the bigger U70 block and the more traditional motorbike shaped A100's power unit. The gearbox is 3 speed semi automatic and is said to be strong enough to take 200cc of /torque. The clutch though may need upgrading to include a neidhart shock absorber (whatever that is?) if I wanted to go for more power. This machine was bought with rebuilt/re bored engine, rebuilt wheels and new suspension. It's still running in . I also got a 99% complete spare machine - a potential 'street cub' project - at the same time . Thanks to Henri for helping un load. It's now running pretty well, I'm just getting used to the foot gear change and beginning to like the shape. A real slice of post war Japanese economic recovery! I still have the Yamaha until the mRs says which she prefers...

Cuppa this cuppa that; it's all drinking when the sun sets ain't it? Henri, I've hinted at the fate of the second one but I'm not gonna dis the mrs by getting stuck in yet and tbh it's gonna take some plotting. Right now getting the fuel and carb cleaned/fresh is the priority. It's still got about 100 miles of running left to go and last Friday I did a few laps of the hammer smith / Hogarth track when it conked out half way through the second leg. The push home had only a few highlights, one of which was chat with some interesting fellah about old bikes in general which was uplifting. Broke the journey up and took me back to my teens LOL. I think it's definitely just a fuel issue now. Must get it sorted. Then I'll run it hot and nip the head down or get someone at the shop with a torque wrench on to it. Once thats fine I'll get a bit further afield to see matey with his German gs. I get feeling it will love to go! Clutch is a bit fractious at the moment - again linked to the fuel/running/revs side of the equation I hope. Anyway check this: I'm amazed to find that not only does it have indicators but an indicator flasher light set in to the speedo! So just in case you can't see the great big flashing orange lamp 6" from your hand you can check for the little one flashing on the speedo! It also has a little green light in the speedo housing that brightens up when you have it in neutral! Which is quite novel for the year. Other advantages over one of Enricos offerings are manifold - y'all should switch horses too IMHO ;-)
Please let me know if you think you know where you met that guy. But whatever goes on there I can't see you and I having reason to fall out unless you broke up the sl. There is a special hell for the person who would do that!
