Hi, I'm new to scooters and I've just picked up a small frame project.
The seller advertised it as a 150 super, the info from the DVLA site says it's a 100cc, there was no V5c with it but it's in the DVLA computer which doesn't give a model just the cc and year of manufacture which is 1971.
I can't find the frame number but the engine number is VBC1M followed by 5 numbers.
Any help identifying what I've got will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Joe
Just checked the engine number with a magnifying glass and it's a 1 not a 7 so I've edited the above info.

It's a 150 Super I think.

Which makes it a largeframe.

Yeah, it's a 150 Super as the seller stated. Nothing really wrong with that and they do have a certain olde world charm about them. What some folk get confused about are the chassis widths and wheels size so it's not uncommon to hear of a narrow mount largeframe, especially on 8" rims, referred to as a "smallframe". It's wrong of course but as said, if not a common mistake, it does happen.

Thanks for the quick replies.
It's got 8" rims, but without having a manual for it yet, how can I tell the differences in the frame between the "small frame" and "narrow mount large frame"?

Largeframes have a horizontal cylinder while smallframes have a vertical cylinder.

Indeed but a more accurate way of explaining things to new addition is that a smallframe has a "solid" monocoque chassis with only an engine door in most cases and a largeframe has a monocoque chassis with detatchable panels.

Thanks again, things are now a bit clearer. Because the info in the DVLA site says it's a 100cc engine and the seller says it has a new 150cc barrel and piston, and is a 150 super, I wasn't sure if it originally was a 100cc that had been modified to 150. From the answers I've received here, it's looking like I've got a genuine 150.
