A mate asked my opinion regarding a good alloy kit for a 125 ,but only ever fitted and tuned 166's I'm not sure which to recommend as regards to a good touring set up using the Pinasco, etc 177 kits.Does anybody have any feedback ? thanks

The Pinasco is alright if a little underwhelming, in the middle of the DR and Polini performancewise. Of those I'd use the Polini but that's not what's being asked. Other options are the Parmakit TSV and the Quattrini M1X's. Parmakit is more likely to be a better bet for a Tourer and the Quattrini a bit of a Hooligan.

Not having looked it up ,I would guess the Palmakit would be a tad too expensive for him although I did recommend it initially.I've done a Pinasco 215 a year or two back and although a nice ride I would'nt say it was anything special, certainly not on a par with the Malossi 210, so I guess the 177 would be disapointing compared to a sorted 166(which sadly is a bit more high maintainance). Thanks for the reply.

hello wacker, Joey here.. i've no experience with large frame tuning but might be worth having a chat with Giulio at Armando's as I've seen a lot of stuff been developed by Pinasco going through their shop. There is a new 180? kit out which is supposed to be the dogs...and it also builds up as a complete package that has all been properly tested...carb,ignition,clutch,gears etc....
