I've got the chance to buy a nice original ss180 been stuffed in a garage 30 years... original n brush painted, green log book and local history...
most old scoots have had a chequered past...I researching details..i'm pretty sure panels, mudguard etc are correct.
I have not been able to see the frame number as it is covered with paint .I hope to be able to check this.
Should this number start VSC1T ? did this ever change in ss production?
Are there any differences to frames and equipment during production..?
Is there any difference between Douglass assembled to Piaggio..?
thanks

All SS180's will be from Italy, will have been imported by Douglas but that's where it'll stop.
Everything you've said should be right. To my knowledge the only thing that changed over production was the headset from trapazoidal to round on the late models.

And as its been hand painted, might be worth seeing what condition the paint is underneath prob not great but worth a look as it needs resprayin and if your into original paint like many.
