As there are a few of us Aussies in here I believe, I am sure I'm not alone in a wee bit of love for the good old Aussie Ute. While there are the odd versions from other countries, the Ute or whatever the fuck the yanks call em was actually first designed and built here in Australia. This is the same as what is in my driveway, although mine looks alot shittier www.classycars.org/Holden/Holden.1968.HK.Utility.706.jpgFuck I just realised mine has the same wheels, so only a full restoration and paintjob to go now...

Yeah brumbies are a great car. I had the station wagon version for a few years, went like a tank (thank you subaru for using the flat four) and the thing cost me all of 250 aussie dollars. You can also slot more modern subaru turbo engines straight into em. THE best car for pig hunting in my opinion. Yours a 4wd???

I just took a closer look and I can see a 4wd badge on there so it looks like you did well. I swear those cars are bulletproof. They are an institution here as well as in south africa where they have some weird uggabugga name for em apparently. Now I think about it, I think I might see if I can track one of these down myself, the station wagon was ok but a brumby ute would be sweet for scoots etc, plus a rexxy donk in em makes em go like the fuckin clappers. I shall report back on what ebay holds in store for me (must admit I do like having another thing to look for on ebay besides trainers, scooters and parts for my holden)

Hmmm theres a few on evilbay. One of em has a suby turbo and 5 speed box slotted into it. It's a wee bit more than I can afford at 4000 aussie dollars but there are others without the turbo (these motors actually pull really hard as a standard) for 750 schmackers. I thinks I shall be keeping an eye out for a decent one to come along. The good thing about em is the engine is pretty much a copy of a beetle engine so working on em isn't brain surgery...
