Ive been fitting this bit of kit today I got so frustrated fitting it I come so close to throwing it away First off , I had to re-tap the the threads wtf eh. they were full of some sort of glue Also the part where it secures the spring in place is about 3mm smaller so its a real cunt to fit the cush spring. When you try and pop the rep kit, the cog and the basket together, the spring pings into the cog because its a bigger hole . So then none of it goes together. When I continue tomorrow im going to have to get the dremel on it What a crappy ballacheing wanky job !

yes you have to grind the spring holes in the primary cog for the drt repair kit too as the springs are fookin massive sounds like your repair kits been on someones scoot as the threads sound like they had loctite on em? use loctite though when you tighten them up good luck

So if you need to replace this part .........Beware , It needs modifying to fit.
Hardened steel sucks balls to dremel aswell !

Actually it's prepared with Loctite to safe people from having to buy a bottle. It doesn't need a Dremel either, it's designed so as to be a pain in the ass to fit, but to work properly as a cush once it's fitted. Not sure whether I'd want it to be the other way round.

thing is , two threads were clear and the other two weren't. the screws wouldn't go in. So iv'e used the tap to clear it. I just cant see how it would work without reworking, there's just no way it was going together. I did manage to get it slightly together one time, but when trying to screw it, because the springs couldn't seat properly the steel cover was just bending as I was tightening. Iv'e now got it together. I took about 2mm of each cutaway. the springs are not loose at all. But one problem still remains . I have tightened the screws as much as I can but there's a 0.5mm gap between the top plate and the cog .

Got a part number mate. Done a few of these and they can be a little awkward. The drt one is nicer.

If that wasn't there you'd effectively clamp everything between the plates, but you want it to move to have the cush drive working.

did mine tonight, didnt seem to have any trouble getting it to fit together, but then again i left the springs in place as i wasnt changing them, top plate bent up a little but i tapped the springs down a little and bent it back straight and it seems to be perfect now.
