Ive been offerd a PX 80 in good condition for small money, anyone know if a large frame PX motor fits in there....I think it should while the frame is basically the same, if my memory serves me right, the frame is slightly smaller in height. ( I dont think the PX80s where offered by Piaggio in the UK, the 80 motor was something for thr German market to take advantage of the age to CC rider laws in Germany). Anyone know the answer?

Pretty sure any PX motor will bolt right in. The frame is the same as fr as I'm aware, a bloke round here used to have one in the late 90s..

I thought PX80's were large frame & large engines already? (essentially a PX125 with smaller top end to comply with german learner driver laws). not that i've ever seen one in this country

So, just been down to my local Scooter shop....the PX80s have the same "large frame", the motor is basically the same unit....the biggest rebore/ cylinder swap is 177..probably Malle or Polini? The engine casings are basically PX 125/150, the studs are apparently not spaced wide enough to take a 200 cylinder. Looks like Ill be buying one then as I have a P2 motor already Thanks for your help. Im based in Germany at the mo, theres a lot of 80s going relativly cheap over here...

You'll need to change the crank to run a 177 kit. The PX80 has a shorter stroke, DR make/used to make a 135 kit for it.

To fit a 166 or 177 onto a PX 80 casing you have to either bore the casing or lathe the barrel base as the PX80 casings have a smaller bore (where the cylinder sits). And now over to proper scoots again - PX80 - HOW DARE YOU

Sorry Juan....I didnt buy the PX80...there was this rusty lump of metal sitting at the back of the guys shed, took that and a set of casings instead. Ill need lots and lots of spare parts to get this one back O.T.R... Looks like a plastic horncover V50 with a small luggage compartment on the left ala Primmy. Im not sure which model it is exactly, need to check the numbers against my books. Ill post a piccy tomorrow, maybe a mod could move the thread back to its original spot as Its about a small frame again ;D

I HAVE BEEN RUNNING A 94 ELECTRIC START PX 80 FOR 12 MONTHS AS MY DAILY HACK! I HAD A P2 DISC WRIGHT OFF AND THE ENGINE AND FRONT END WENT IN NO PROBLEM, ONLY THING I HAD TO CHANGE WAS TO WIRE IN THE LIGHT SWITCH FOR THE SIDE LIGHT. AS THIS WAS NOT WIRED UP. HOPE THIS HELPS.
