Just got back, unfortunately Tony is not well and couldn't make it. However, his bike was there so I took it for a spin around the paddock, just so it wouldn't feel left out. Only John was there to represent the smallframes and althought the clutch was slipping he did very well. Oh, Col was there too bu he doesn't count as he is not riding a smallframe yet. ;D He did very well too, specially on the second race as it was raining and blowing a gale (almost). He will have to get new leathers tho as the old ones are a bit soiled (sorry Col ). ;D

Really enjoyed my first look at the racing, despite the weather being somewhat shitty. Fair play to Col for getting out there on his commuter auto amongst some frighteningly quick plastic missisles in adverse conditions too - rather you than me! Well done to JWS battling with a slipping clutch that we could hear from some distance and giving some machines with almost double the capacity a good running - should maybe treat that 3 plate cork affair to a strengthened spring Sorry to miss you Tony, nice to see the Hornet in the flesh though, very impressive machine, sorry about the scratches, I wasn't used to how quickly the power comes on Look forward to going again at some point and hoping for good weather and lots of smallies Very hard to take pics of the bikes, most of mine looked like this DSCF2399 by vespaloco, on Flickr did get these tho DSCF2397 by vespaloco, on Flickr DSCF2393 by vespaloco, on Flickr

Really really nice to meet up with Tom and Max, your encouragement ment alot to me........ some bloody quick scooters out there of all shapes and sizes... John woods "SS" sounded and went mint... absolutely flying... hes a star, he runs around like a headless chicken making sure EVERYONE knows where they need to be on the grid. works on his scooter between races, and still finds the time to come over and guide me and tell me where im going wrong... always mega helpfull..... cheers mate.. also nice to see Rhys..?? very tidy scoot.. Hope your on the mend Tony, you were sadly missed... I started and finished ALL 5 races, albeit last to finish everytime.. the last race on saturday, was far wetter than i would have liked to be out in.... it scared me senseless...... the race was mixed geared and auto scooters, because im at the back of the grid (and slowest) im the first to get lapped, so seeing the fast lads pass you and cut through the pack is crazy... i was going around a big left hand corner thinking "shit im drifting wide" when this BLUE SS90 shot past on the outside accelerating hard with what looked like a rear wheel spinning in the rain..... three corners later two 70cc Piaggio Zips passed (lapping me) both riders had there knees scrapping the wet track....... if any of you do go along to any races pop over and say hello.... im on an Auto..... but i will be on a SMALLFRAME some point soonish...

I thought twice about ending my post with "(or die trying)" but I wasn't sure how you'd take that. Still I'm sure I'll end up with a fair proportion of grief at the weekend so bollocks. ;D A1...?, going to try A19, A68 this year I think. Got no choice about going on moped I've just spunked my last spare £50 on something totally unnecessary but which I just HAD to have. Will brag mercilessly post pictures when it arrives.

Nice to meet you Col and John. Had a good day out and enjoyed the ride down. The guys I brought down (one use to race RD 350s and one currently has a track Mille) were really impressed with the kit you guys have and the speed that you get on the track. I though John did a great job mixing it with the scaffolding poles and had two good races. Bike sounded awesome down the back straight and looked the mutts nuts. Good luck guys with the rest of the season and hope to catch you at another meet later in the year. Looking forward to seeing you out there on a smallie soon Col.

The reason the clutch was slipping on saturday was the harder springs failed , so it was only running on 4 soft springs. differant spring setup for sunday and it flew again. Nice to see the faces behind the screen names, glad you enjoyed it. Col, the reason the rear was spinning up in the rain was i had a dry rear tyre on, wet front tho ;D. The zip lads have found a softer wet (pmt?) but it costs £90 and if the track drys it will wear out.
