Ad, ive got a couple of polini barrels, one is standard, the other has been fettled by a german (quite a good job methinks) Do you rewckon I should weld up the cases to take them out or does JB weld do the job ok??
Oh, and that crank you sent me last year finally showed up a few weeks ago, must say shes in fantastic nick, thanks for that.

Feckin be jesus!!!! Thats great news, told you I'd sent it It should be in great nick it never turned in an engine. I bought an engine freshly built by Chisels, stripped it and it was in that.......don't forget the feedback ;D PS what was the post date it seems like ages ago? And as for the Polini the meat on the barrel doesn't warrant welding of the casings really, JB weld or equiv will doo IMO for if you break through transfers which will only be pin holes and fine for opening the inlet up..... Still can't believe the crank turned up.....result!!

I think it was around september, turned up with about 3 months worth of stuff id ordered from the uk so maybe they wanted to save on the extra trips from the post office to my place...
Cheers for the JB weld advice, ive used that stuff for a headset master cylinder conversion and to fill in the clutch side of a lardy malossi setup.
I'll post up a pic of the headset, was the easiest bit of fettling ive done.

Well its been a while but had a couple of hours today.......Had a chew with the Polini Piston so we've gone GS and after doing some calcs on the D&F taken a different approach to the port timings. Opened, reshaped and cleaned out the boost ports, also lifting them up with the aux trans. Doesn't seem a lot but they aren't very good as std and v restricted. Plus window put in new piston. Head to profile to match piston crown then its over to Jimspeed ;D
