Anyone got the little diagram that comes with the beedies switch for a prim my? I've just fired up my vespatronic and all fine except the lights/ horn are all over the place so I'm assuming I've wired something wrong and I've lost the bit of paper that came with the switch. Headlight won't come on and the side light goes out if I press the horn button. Not changed the horn....do I need to?

Think I might have one but I'll check tomorrow. In the meantime have you looked on the Beedspeed site as they often have a PDF. for their electrical parts etc. included in the listing.

Ah, missed the bit about the horn first time around.
Do you have the 12v AC unit or is it still the standard Primmy one?

I've bought a 12v ac unit, but not fitted it yet. Fired up the motor just to check it was working so far..will that mess up the rest of the wiring? Just opened it up and I think of got a couple of wires the wrong way round..gonna sit down and start doodling to try and make sense of it

Thanks guys - need to a bit of translation of wire colours and then see where I've gone wrong. Checked a load of circuits with my meter this morning and all the wires and connections seem sound. Just need to work out where I've gone wrong.....
Put the 12v horn in as well...not sure whether that makes a difference

If you look here, I've put a short guide on how to connect the wiring.

Thanks max, and everyone else.
I sat down last night and pored over all the wiring diagrams to work out what I'd done wrong. In the end I needed to change the horn wiring to take account of the px push to make connection switch on the earth and simplify the connections back to the junction box. My v100 has a loom similar to a primmy which means originally it has two feeds to the switch on the handlebars..I have simplified that down to 1 and it all works fine.
Going to draw up my current circuit so I know what I've done next time.
Now just got to wait for it to warm up a bit so I can take it for a spin and see how the vespatronic goes...at least I'll be able to see in the winter murk ;D

OK- wiring all sorted. Thanks for the help with the diagrams.
I have drawn up the final wiring diagram for a primmy loom converted to 12V with the Beedspeed 12v switch and px rear brake switch. I f anyone wants a copy let me know....
Now I've fired it up it starts fine but seems to be running pretty rough. I have set the timing as per the M1L photo thats posted elsewhere and that strobes at about 22 deg BTDC at idle which seems about right from everything I've read.
I'm guessing that the carb needs rejetting because of the 12v system/Vespatronic - is that the norm? Seems as though its probably too rich but I've not had the time to do the whole process of checking yet.....

here you go - i tried to use the same colours to indicate the wires as the vespatronic had...makes some sense when its in front of you. Can't remember whether I've since added an earth to the CDi unit - will check tomorrow....if its not clear ask away. if you pm your email I can send you a pdf (or the cad file )

Can't remember whether I've since added an earth to the CDi unit - will check tomorrow....if its not clear ask away. if you pm your email I can send you a pdf (or the cad file ) Couple of questions about the vtronic wiring. My primmy has still the original loom but 12V vtronic. Now I am starting to strip the bike down for painting etc. In your diagram the connections in the main switch are abit different compared to original connection? My problem is now that horn wont work and the both head lights("parking" and main light) are on at same time? I have not modified the switch and the connections are original. Is this the problem. I have added the one blue wire to the px brake switch but its not working. The yellow-white from vtronic which gives power to lights etc shouldnt it be connected together with green, yellow, blue. You only have blue and green, or do you mean they all are together? If I use this diagram does the light and horn work as they should? Thanks a lot. Im not so familar with electrics..

The circuit I have drawn up assumes a replacement main light switch which beedies sell and a px brake light switch. It won't work without those.
There is one feed to the switch for the lights and then the switch makes the connections to the tail light/headlight/side light depending upon the switch position.
My scooter is actually a V100 (no indicators, no battery, no fornt brake switch) but the wiring is the same as the primmy.
Everything works as it should and this involved the least amount of alteration to the original loom. I ran various wires in and out of the connection box to the regulator so that all the conenctions were in the original connection box with the same types of spades. I drew it up for my own record....
I seriously recommend investing in a proper crimping tool and going to the trouble of fnding and ordering the right size brass conenctors. The aluminium ones are rubbish...
Practice on a few bits of wire before touching the loom if you've not done it before. If you need more wire make sure you buy good quality wire of the right diameter. I use stuff with a thinner insulation covering which takes up less space in the little connector box and is more flexible...
