How much better would one of these be compared to a Polini, a lot or not enough to warrant a purchase?.....Also is there any Scoots it wont fit in the Smallframe world?, Cheers, Mark.

It is an expansion pipe, and works well with pretty standard set ups. As I understand, this particular one works well at bottom to mid range. Also, apparently is not as noisy as the previous model. Will fit any vespa smallframe models.

I'd be interested to see how the power and torque figures compare between the down & forward and this one. I can't imagine they'd be that different, but we'll see. As for noise, that was the one thing that turned me off the original is the noise. I hate having a scooter you have to shout over when it's idling. By the way, had a look at Simonini's catalogue to find the figure of €164, which works out to be a shade below £150 on here.

Yeah yeah, cheers Will. Mine's a 75, actually. ;D You should hear those eBay Sitos... I got one before I acquired any knowledge of what's hot and what's not on a scooter. They sound like a chainsaw running next to a megaphone, they're awful!

it doesnt matter how loud it is, if you want something to listen to buy a stereo, or just get a grip, ffs a decent helmet will do the job and not the one you keep permanantly in your hand, think of the neighbours that always helps

Although I can appreciate that, Jonny, if I don't like the sound of my own scooter, I don't like the sound of my own scooter so I'd like to do something to change it! ;D And our neighbours were making thinly veiled threats at us for various things due to, amongst other things, "excessive noise."

The difference between that and the old one is that now you'll be grinding it on left corners instead of right ;D

Fuck 'em indeed... I'm happy with the Polini snail I have at the moment, so there we go. Besides, Mum's Bandit 1250 is louder than the Spesh.
