On a personal note I have found shiply to be pretty poor - cheapest I could get for the collection of a frame and delivery 180 miles was 65 quid....
when DHL will do it for 35

used Shiply to get Rogers Primmy up from Reading to Newcastle. probably some 300 odd miles, a guy contacted me on shiply with a bid of £80....!!!!! i thought christ thats cheap it would cost me much more to hire a van and drive. Anyway i was a bit scared it the bike would be thrown into a van with a few old washing machines and some old dining tables...!!! couldnt have been more wrong, dedicated motorcycle carrier with bike bays and straps, only carries two bikes at a time. Fantastic service, great contact, rings half an hour before delivery too to let you know where he is, but constant contact via email and phone. Insured for a high value too for theft, accident etc. take a look at his website for photos of his van etc, fully recommneded service, would def use again. www.hotwheels.vpweb.co.uk

If you do an average height (instead of legshield height) for a vespa frame at 50cm, with parcel monkey you save a fortune especially with international collection. Never had to be charged more. Usually delivered by DHL.
Vespa smallframe bare frame:
Length 140cm x Width 44cm x Height 50cm Weight 20kg
I think the length is right?

think most of the couriers have cottoned onto this one and you can only send the frames by night freight now who are charging pallet rate of approx £45-£55 a go.i am getting one done by apc couriers at the minute,so i will see what they charge-hopefully a bit less!

Hi all,
Just thought I'd add a number for anyone living in the South (although the guy can deliver anywhere around the country).
Just arranged a pick up & delivery through Shiply & was put in touch with Alan - 07903 737818. His vans set up to specifically carry bikes & he has a couple of scoots himself. Did a fantastic job for me (he had to take my 2 bikes all over the place in the end but that's another story!) reasonable price & called me to let me know when they were delivered etc.
He's based in Hayling Island - may come in handy for anyone in that area.

Hi folks. A new poster here but got a couple of questions if possible regarding this. What's the best way to go about buying a scoot 'unseen' so to speak? Found one online but its way down south and I'm up in Aberdeen. Obviously I've asked for loads of pictures etc. Is there a safe way to do the deal with regards to the guy selling it? Obviously a little wary of simply sending someone a handful of cash on the promise that he'll actually send the scoot...

hi jude, fitlikey n foos yer doos? i got bumped doing this myself mate bought a frame on here full of holes took forever to put right. i would defo require a home phone number, signature and address on a written receipt (all of which i was told i would get but never materialised in the parcel) for a start hope theres a v5 with it- makes things much easier ;)also if your willing to disclose where it is you could ask nicely if anyone on here is local to it and wouldnt mind popping round and giving it a once over for you lots of photos are good but if its humped then photos can be taken selectivley. good luck loon!

Aye aye min! It's down in Oxfordshire somewhere, he seems to be a dealer although he doesn't seem to have a website, it's advertised on a classic vehicles site and he has quite a few bikes for sale.

Ill stick a thread up on the other section, see if anyone knows. Cheers.
