What's a 'secondary coil?' Does it give you something for nothing? It'll be a first if it does...

he might be on about the augusto whats an Augusto? apart from the first name of a deceased south american dictator they aren't talking about the AddOnV variable ignition thing are they? think that costs about £50, though i believe has limited success.

Has any scientific research ever been done on these? Makes you wonder why vehicle manufacturers don't fit them. That said, if your friend has had success with hers, then it was money well spent!

thats a load of shite isnt it - they dont tell you anywhere what (if anything) it does, have a look at their website, same story. Its probably got a nail inside it at most. The Augusta thing I understand, this however is just a placebo.

personally i would rather go for your augusto one if its tried and tested but would be good if someone could test them both

Done a search...and the forum link below has pros and cons.. well more cons actually.. one guy saying he took it apart and it had three washers inside..how that works I dunno.. however what I would say..if this spitfire thing was so amazing then everyone would be running it on hi-end stuff, race stuff and supercars etc.. they arent. www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=68799

Everybody's talking about "scientific evidence," well why don't we try it? Someone can get one along with a bit of fresh HT lead for both with and without the "Spitfire" hoojimaflip so it can't be blamed on that, and try one on a dyno somewhere to see if it makes any tangible difference! I don't mind chipping in for one if anyone else is on board...

If it worked, you'd think the people selling them would have already run a few tests so that they could show tangible evidence that they did work. Then they would be sold by the million to all owners of petrol powered vehicles, manufactureres would also fit them as standard to new vehicles...........
...........then they would be rich beyond their wildest dreams and no longer need to fiddle about at parts fairs and on ebay.
Still not buying it ;D
But if someone tests one and shows that there is a significant increase in power then I will eat my hat (if I had one)
