If you can bear to sit through it theres a tiniest glimpse of a smallie at the end of this video what I made on the cheap with my old band. You could always skip to the end of course.

The wife was a big Prince fan, I could take him or leave him, and she's just shown me this. I'm pretty impressed.

I would never claim to be a fan of Prince's music but there's no doubting his talent.
I saw something on-line the other day where Slowhand was being interviewed, obviously from years ago. The basic jist of it was the interviewer asking Eric what it was like to be the greatest living guitarist.
He say's "I dunno, you'd better ask Prince."
No doubt he was being modest but that little fella could play. Trying to think who we've got alive now, is Albert Lee still drawing breath? Walter Trout? Will need to come back after a sleep on it.

I don't expect this to appeal to most, but then again I don't know.. but being a native Southern Californian the Chili Peppers are kind of a staple.. This one takes about 2-3 spins to take hold... by the 3rd listen, the hook was in my head and knew it'd be a radio hit. Too bad it took me 3 spins... if I'd have know that on the 1st listen, I'd have made my fortune as an A&R guy..

Chilli Peppers track never really starts or goes anywhere for me. Whilst I'll accept it'll sound miles better in the Californian sunshine than the freezing to tepid at best UK drizzle they're still in the same bracket as the Foo Fighters for me. Enjoyed their early output but should've given it up years ago. I also have The Stone Roses in that same bracket.

On the subject of The Stone Roses, has anyone seen this before?
Remember pissing myself the first time that I saw it. Still snigger now.

I love this forum.. I hear ya Juan and kev... I can't tell you why, but I haven't really been exposed to the Stone Roses.... I don't know why, but I'm going to give them a listen.. RE: the Chili Peppers.. Juan.. you have to give it at least 3 spins.. I have no financial interest in said Chili Peppers... but it grew on me.. Anyway.. I look forward to becoming a Stone Roses fan... however late.

Stone Roses new single has a half decent tune but lyrically sounds like it was written by a 14 year old and is rather repeatative, shame as I love their early stuff, was hoping for more, not necessarily the same as early stuff as bands progress over time but this was a little disappointing.

I can't tell you why, but I haven't really been exposed to the Stone Roses.... I don't know why, but I'm going to give them a listen. I don't expect they were that well known or received much Radio play in the States, the were part of the "Madchester" (hate that term)/ Baggy scene from the mid to late 80's. Around about the same time as Acid House which I'm guessing you did get as certainly Detroit was a big player in that. If you like The Stone Roses then also check out The Happy Mondays and to lesser extent The Inspiral Carpets etc. I was always more in the Mondays camp then any other.

Thanks guys... it turns out I wasn't so deaf to the Stone Roses as I'd thought..
I definitely knew the song "I wanna be adored"... After watching many clips on youtube I've heard a handful of their songs.. just didn't really know it was them..
I wouldn't have guessed they were as mellow as they are.. kind of like a cross between The Church and Oasis? ... hints of Echo & the Bunnymen in there as well.
I like 'em.. I'm going to keep listening... I like their style for sure.. I just started watching this.. looks good.
