Morning all Hope everybody enjoyed church this morning !
I’ve sorted speedo on my 50s plenty of times but not sure on the PK. Disconnected cable at speedo and undone the small nut / plate at wheel after a lot of cursing ( why do they make everything so awkward to get at ) Mot sure how to get at the drive / cogs though.

Think they’re the same as a v range, i’ve copied a link from Scooterhelp.com that covers front end work. Pretty certain the bearing retaining ring and speedo drive nut are left hand thread www.scooterhelp.com/tips/body/sf.front.hub.html

Thanks for that. On my 50S you poked the cable through a small plate and you got to the small drive cog via a small 10 p size bung . The PK looks completely different . Do I have to take the hub off ?

youve got pk125 forks mate ,same set up/link as px basically ,different to your 50s . under the plate theres a rubber grommet to hold cable ,an then a steel plug which supports the speedo drive worm . if your lucky you can hook the plug out ,but mostly its a hub off an drive it out from behind job .H

Cheers H
Got the rubber grommet out but couldn't get to the plug.
Decided to take hub off as you suggested but after removing split pin couldn't budge the the nut looks nice and clean / greased but absolutely locked solid.
Some gentle persuasion with hammer on end of socket ?

Bloody hell , I know they are tight but there’s no way I’m shifting that nut ! Worried if I’m too brutal I will do some damage . Just going to leave it for now and use the GPS ( after one more go tomorrow) 😀

You can get some good leverage with a garden fork and a socket adapter with hole in .

if nuts off the hub can come off ,the circlip you can see is just to retain bearing in hub ,it stays in . get a block off wood an a hammer , an rotate hub , banging on the back of studs . an it will come off the axle eventually .H

Try a 3 legged puller if you have one .

Knocked the hub off and checked speedo drives . Both look ok if extremely over greased ? Worm drive turns when you turn cable but when you put hub on and spin wheel cable doesn’t move .

With the cable off, stick a small flat screw driver into the driven gear. Turn the wheel. Does the screwdriver turn? With your fingers, apply light resistance to the screwdriver. Does the screwdriver still turn? Then your drive is fineand it is your cable. Too short or the tip is worn.

Bloody hell Mark, just seen this post, and you are truly becoming an expert. Seeing as when we first met, you were worried about working on any aspect of your scoot, you are truly getting down to sorting your scoots out. Well done mate at the very least you get a great feeling of accomplishment.
