oops , meant to post this the other day an forgot . flywheel nut is M12 x 1.25 fine thread ,primary sides M12 x 1.5mm .H No problem. Seems I've ordered the right ones anyway. Any ideas on the torque settings for the head bolts please? BTW I posted your clutch basket today.

Looking ahead I guess I should do a leak test on this when it's together so I'm getting the kit ready.
I've bought a blood pressure testing thing. I found one with the gauge and bulb-pump on a single tube. I'm going to get an inner tube and cut it in half and remove the valve core and connect the Blood pressure tube to that. One end of the inner-tube will be connected to the inlet pipe and the other to the exhaust- not the end, but before the expansion pipe where there is a join. Does that all sound right?
Couple of questions: 1. What size inner tube? 2. Piston at BDC when I test?

Clutch bell arrived and was fitted without problem. Yes I remembered the circlip. Plus the kickstart lever and spring so that was fitted too Then the gears and kickstarter along with the o-ring. Does that look right to you? Is it out far enough?Then the christmas tree although the fit wasn't that tight. Maybe because it was -1c in the garage. When I was refitting the kickstart cog these were in the "kickstart" parts bag when I did the stripdown. Any ideas where they fit? They aren't on the blueprints and in all the rebuilds I've done I've never seen them before.

I kept looking at the engine yesterday thinking "something's wrong with that picture or is it my imagination?" but it was the last thing I did and lunch was ready so I thought feck it and left it. Thanks for the head's up anyway!

It doesn't explain why the previous "builder" also added the spring and wavy washer as well as those two. I suppose at least he put the gears in the right way around.

Put the cases together yesterday. Gasket in place Bolts all polished on my wire wheel ready for fitting with the Nordlocks. Pre torquing And finally all torqued. 10 ft/lbs that's right isn't it? Crank moves with fingertip pressure and all is good with the world. Clutch build next. I'm using the Crimaz Easy with the Crimaz pressure plate. Took me a while to work out that you have to use the bottom basket part of the old clutch with the Crimaz kit, which is a bit shit considering how much it cost. I'm also going to fit the Crimaz geared conversion for the clutch cover. Fingers crossed this clutch will be smooooth!

Fitted the 3 Crimaz reinforced woodruff keys yesterday. The nuts were another thing. Despite ordering the ones it said on the SIP site (PK) and the ones Pinasco said (PK) and Henri said, the fat nut goes on both sides but the slim one doesn't go on either. I fitted the fat one on the clutch side and it doesn't touch the clutch cover but I just know it's wrong so I've ordered what was recommended on a site selling the crank: M12 x 1.25 and M10 1.5. Time will tell. Here's the fat nut on the fly side. Not sure that's right either. Here are the two nuts. Anyway I fitted the geared Crimaz clutch lever. Not too shabby. And that took me 2 hours. Where does the time go?

weird , one nut shouldnt fit both sides of the crank , there different threads usually .from picture the flywheel thread looks to be coarse ,as in m12 x1.5 ,same as primary side ,usually there m12 x m1.25 fine thread .does the nut go fully on or just a couple of turns then stops .what crank is it , an were did you get it .H

All sorted. One of the crimaz ones fitted on the clutch side. A fat one went on the fly side and a thin one went on the clutch bell. All went on easily. Ill post photos tomorrow. Thanks.

Here you go. Fly and clutch test fitted obv. I think I need to bend over one side of the washer on the primary nut yes?
