I have a 74 primavera all stock except Malossi vespower 12v electronic ignition. Im noticing a little leakage from the head. Friend of mine said cylinder is “ify” at the lip. I don’t want to go crazy with upgrades. Is it worth getting the dr10 kit and just up jet the main? Would I have to reset the timing as well?

dr130 is pretty plug and play with slight change to jetting if required, no need to change timing.

Think it’s worth $150? Would I notice any difference without doing any other mods?

I did lap the head. It’s running pretty good now. I just want a little more oomph but don’t want to go crazy with upgrades. I seem to top out at 42mph. Slowww.

If you are running the 2 port top end still, you will definitely like the improvement from the DR130. It was one of the first things I did when I bought my 74 primavera.

what is the stroke of the engine you are running if its not 51mm you will need to strip and swap the crank
this is also a good time to open up the inlet port a touch

If I do it I’m thinking:
Dr130 head Polini kidney exhaust Upjet Done.
Not planning on porting. I just want a little more oomph and I think that will do it. Yes?

that will clock about 60 to 62 so count it as high 50`s
that's a nice speed for tootling around and good on the juice

If I remember correctly I set timing to be 23 degrees btdc when I installed melossi vespower electronic ignition. Would I have to change that or will be be ok with the new set up?

I had my DR at 17 degrees. Was originally at 19 but was firing far too early and over heating.

If I remember right the DR calls for stock et3 timing (21?).

I have a DR130 very bad finishing touch on the head and cylinder...its good repacement for original cylinder but i wouldnt recomend it to anyone...give few extra dollars and buy a polini cast iron and i wont have to bother with head and cylinder leak all the time...also i left my timing on original PK50 mark on the case, seems to work fine
