Hi all Whilst at the IOW rally this year developed a nasty metal on metal knock when going over slightest bump. Turns out the rubber donut at top had perished. It’s better now but still knocks on bumpy roads , can’t see any sign of leaking from cylinder / rod but that’s not to say it hasn’t been knackered. This is the current setting but it’s still very soft , how far can you go to stiffen it up ? ( ooh er missus )

I've got an adjustable R1 shock on my lammy and to my shame have never adjusted it in more than ten years however, I think you use the supplied spanner to turn the red nut things so that the spring is more compressed. I've fitted adjustable shocks to my smallframe and if I ever get it on the road I really do mean to put some effort into using the capacity to be adjusted to get the best possible ride

You can go as far as the thread or your strength to turn the ring....
