I've been lurking for a while here. Got a few tips from others a while back (thank you). Here's a project I picked up last year. It had been sitting since 1985. It was missing the toolbox and the hubcaps. I decided to just get it back on the road instead of doing a full restoration. 1. I'd probably never actually ride a restored 90ss. 2. I didn't want to do a restoration with repro parts (i.e. toolbox) Here's what it looked like coming out of the shed. There were 2 layers of spray paint (blue + red) over the original Blue Pavone. It came off with a lot of elbow grease, and I've shined up what is left the best I could. The exhaust was Swiss cheese and the bike had been dropped on its left side at some point. The cowl had a really nice dent and the shifter tube had been broken and poorly repaired.

Here is the current state. Motor rebuilt. Front end rebuilt. Poorly matched paint on the repro toolbox and headset. New seat cover, exhaust, rims, cables and rubber bits. I kept 1 original rim and 1 tire to use as the spare. She rides pretty well. I'm still getting the carb sorted. She's really hard to start cold. Once warm, it's first kick. I'm looking for an original exhaust and toolbox (series 1).

Regarding the hard to start bit is your choke working correctly?

As far as I can tell, the choke is working but I will recheck. Thanks.
I'm currently suspecting a sticky needle or float. There's a difference if I start it on or off the kickstand. Also when it's idling and I roll off the stand it races and takes a while to settle down. It's a 16/16 with 82,38,50 jetting (stock).

I think you are right about the choke. It engages, but not far enough. Cable is too long.
