Have this on the lardy page as well but no takers so far.
I have a lardy chopper project that I bought from a mate to help him out and I need some advice on the electrics. I want to go as minimum as possible.
I have a dropped choppery type handlebar set up (not a dropped vespa headset) so I have ordered some motorcycle switches for it. I am hoping I do not need both switches, can I run with permanent lights and just use the switch with the high/low beam and horn function or do the lights have to be able to turn off? Do I need to have high/low beam indication light on the headset (I think the speedo I have ordered has this function)?
As I am not running indicators, do I need a battery?
It will be running standard ignition switch.
Can anyone advise on the simplest set up for this. I have the main wiring loom from the scoot but nothing from underneath the horncast where the connecting gubbins sits, do I need this? I am hoping I can just cut out any unused wires from the loom.
Electrickery is not my thing so all help appreciated.

I have been told that is now a law requirement to have the lights permanently on (haven't checked to confirm tho). I keep mine on all the time anyway. If your wiring loom is not a battery one, that you won't need the battery. Just connect the wiring to the switches to control the lights and the horn. This is as far as I can go with electrickery!

Cheers Max. You don't need to alter older vehicles to have permanent lights, just new ones have to comply. Slowly getting all th ebits and printed off a few wiring diagrams so reckon I can figure it out if I take my time.
