Hi Guys,
I'm currently rebuilding the engine on my 50s and fitted a 12v Parmakit ignition. Some say that the original loom will work other say that you need a new wiring loom to fit the 12v ignition. Can anyone shed some light on this topic?
I found this video online and it seems very simple. Dos anyone know if i can you this same method for the parmakit ignition?
Also attached are the Parmakit instructions

The ignition will work no problem. Powering the lights and horn is another matter. The simplest Vespa 50/90 wiring uses switches that short power to ground for off. This does not work with the Paramakit/Vespatronic/etc systems. There is only one power coil and shorting it to ground turns everything off, and may fry the wiring due to the higher output. If your 50s has the short to ground switches, then you need to change them and do some minor wiring changes so everything works.

Thx for the reply. Where's a photo of the wiring on my 50s before i took it apart. Will this work?

Dunno. Depends if you have short to ground switches or not. What do you have? What year is your 50s?
