Hello,
I'm working on a primmy engine for a friend (Malossi 135, holed a piston & seized) and the crank bearing 'shoulder' on the drive side has come away, leaving some side-to-side movement of the bearing.
Has anyone performed any repair work on this type of failure? I guess we're talking either welding a new shoulder and perhaps some machining or is there enough meat there to cut a circlip recess?
Thanks, George.

I had the same on a pair of cases, couldn't get a weld to take due to oil soak, even had it drilled for plug welding and by the time I got to sending it off for machining I found a good set of cases for £80. Ended up chucking the case side with the broken lip, getting it jigged etc was just too expensive. You may have better luck.

Could be the right option - Would you post post if the cost is covered? I'll have a word with the owner...
