....Actually i got that wrong it is currently; Circlip-Small shim-gears x 4 -big shim-Circlip !

I built it up like this and all was well until i fitted the clutch and then the kick start would not engage ??

Think I have found the problem but not the solution...... When putting cases together the main drive shaft is pushing the main drive side bearing out (towards the back wheel) this is moving the whole gear cluster too far in the same direction. It would seem that the main drive shaft is not seating into the small needle roller bearing but why not? ?

First make sure you fit the right needle bearing, and, that it wasn't damaged when you fit it. Take out the axle shaft and try it.

take out drive shaft,you need to make sure the rear bearing is tapped back into place, then put rear hub backplate on, this will stop bearing from popping out, then tap drive shaft back through, everything should then line up, this happened to me on my build
